Honua Honu Studio
Monday April 28, 2025 marked a major milestone for Honua Honu, for the NFT project and for the entire Honua Honu community. This was the official birth date of our Web3 video game studio: Honua Honu Studio.
What does it means in concrete terms? Let’s find out together!
What is not changing
Let us start with what remains unchanged.
- The Honua Honu collection continues to grow and, as announced, will be paused at 200 Honu created. This will allow us to work more efficiently on the game and its upcoming seasons. New Honu are expected in the coming weeks, and the collection will continue to evolve
The collection remains on MultiversX, at least for the time being. A possible migration is not excluded in the future, but is not on the agenda.
A word of clarification: Honua Honu NFTs are a key offering advantages in ALL the games and universes to be developed by the studio. So if you have got a Honu, keep it safe. If not, think about getting one!
- The Island Guardians game is currently in its beta-testing phase, but this is coming to an end. New features are set to appear with the official launch of Season 1.
Season 2 will introduce new Honu, allowing players without an NFT from the official collection to participate. Season 3 will finally bring open warfare with the Rag’s, who will appear as a dedicated collection of 100 unique characters.
- The Honua Honu association, governed by the French law of 1901, remains autonomous and continues on its way. A donation will soon be set up via Honua Honu Studio for an association we have already supported in the past. Information will be available in a few days.

But together, we go much further! That’s why I’ve asked five people to join me in this adventure:
- Chakipu : community management.
- Madame Pingouin : HR coordination and document management.
- RpGmAx : development of games, dapps and smart contracts.
- Max la pieuvre : development and creation (lore, design, universe…).
- Mimifrisette : project manager, our conductor for efficient collaboration.
- Cryptortue : founder of the studio, assisting Mimifrisette with overall project management.
A community manager for social networks and a Discord moderator are currently being recruited. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you are interested!

The changes also include the evolution of the company’s social networks and website. Honua Honu becomes Honua Honu Studio to avoid the multiplication of accounts and the confusion that could result.
Twitter (X) has already switched to the new colors and with Facebook, Instagram and the website to follow in the coming days.
What is happening
Honua Honu becomes a Web3-focused video game studio. In concrete terms, this means that we will be developing games that integrate blockchain. The aim is to create universes around NFT offering a playful and creative experience.
All these games will be grouped around a common hub, allowing interaction and exchange between them, creating a unique dynamic. Holding an NFT in one will bring advantages in the other, and vice versa. The aim is to build a real community and give meaning to what many call “Web3” without always understanding its real possibilities.
Our ambition goes beyond simple browser games: 3D, RPGs, TCG-type card games… everything is possible, with a variety of universes and styles. Today on the browser, tomorrow on your phones and consoles!
Our areas of development :
- Accessibility : it has to be easy to enter the universe with a low cost of entry so that everyone can get started.
- Zero advertising : the game must remain a place to relax with no intrusive banners or videos.
- The story : lore is essential. A game must have substance, form and a logical link between the two. The history of the world, the characters and the collection is essential to create a captivating universe.

Abscats – Cats (still) rule the world
Developed on the Abstracts blockchain, Abscats is a game born of Ybélion‘s imagination based on a collection of cards featuring colorful and totally wacky cats.
Forget everything you thought you knew about card games… Here, cats reign supreme and collection, strategy and feline duels intermingle in a joyful chaos that is as adorable as it is ruthless.
In Abscats, each cat has a unique personality, meow, color, profession and talents. Collect them by opening boosters to get even more… exclusive ones!
But beware! It is not just about collecting, it is about managing: the rules of duels are constantly changing, affecting your chances of victory in unpredictable ways. You will have to take on the role of master strategist, insatiable collector and cunning opportunist!
So, are you ready to dive into a world where every meow can make a difference? Build your feline army and prove that Cats Still Rule the World !
You will be able to buy your Abscats boosters in July. Between now and then, we will be setting up a number of collaborations with our favorite communities, and you will have the chance to win freemints and WLs!

Important point: all Honu holders will receive a booster Freemint. One Honu in your wallet, one free booster. Two Honu? Two boosters, etc. What is more, you will not have to do a thing – your gifts will be sent directly to your wallet!
Aelthera
I have always loved the world of heroic fantasy. Orcs, dwarves, elves… this whole little world of merrymaking has been my universe for over 30 years. So it was unthinkable that the first 100% game from our studio would not go in that direction!
The world of Aelthera will soon be revealed to you. What is its history? In what universe? What is going on, and why do we need to put our boots down on this planet?

And to finish…
Here is a summary of what was announced during the special launch event on Discord. Discord has also evolved to make it easier for you to find your way around. A temporary Abscats section has been added, as the game will soon have its own dedicated server.

With the creation of Honua Honu Studio, a new page has been turned in our adventure. More than a project, it is a shared vision that is taking shape: that of creating Web3 games that are accessible, fun, meaningful and rooted in rich worlds.
