Honua Honu Annual General Meeting
Wednesday December 13 saw the association’s annual general meeting attended by members of the board and all those who wished to take part via our Discord server.
After a quick review of the year 2023 we presented the orientation that will be our guide for 2024! Let us take a closer look.

2023 the start-up year
Officially born on Tuesday May 9 2023 the Honua Honu association creunder the French law of 1901 has grown at a pace we never imagined possible!
With 51 registered members including 49 present on Discord we can be proud of the past year and would like to thank you all for your presence your time your energy and of course your donations! 37 people went through our partner HelloAsso to validate registration and 14 preferred to do so via the blockchain with payment in EGLD.
2023 Budget
With €555 from HelloAsso memberships and €147 from donations the total raised this year is €702.
To this amount must be added EGLD memberships which have not yet been converted into euros.
Expenses this year are minimal: we have purchased a Ledger wallet (€62.50) to secure the association’s cryptocurrency funds and bank charges totalling €40.40.
December’s cash position therefore stands at 516.84€ with 20.74 EGLD in staking to take advantage of the annual gain and the current upward trend which will most certainly accelerate over 2024.
Donations to associations
Three donations have been made this year and if all goes well there will be a fourth for Christmas.
- €600 donated to SPA
- €1150 donated to Centre Athenas
- €410 donated to Tortupôle
In addition EGLD will be collected from the sale of a legendary Honu auctioned between Christmas and New Year’s Day. We will tell you all about it in a future article!
To date a total of €2,160 has been distributed to these 3 associations all because of you! Thanks again to all of you!
Roadmap 2024 – Members donations and more
Members registrations and cards
In view of the financial situation and the low level of expenditure planned for 2024 it has been decided that the 2024 membership card will be offered to all members who took out their card in 2023! It is our way of saying thank you and we hope the adventure will continue for a long time to come!
Registration for new members remains fixed at 15€ via HelloAsso and will be possible from January 1st 2024.
Members who have not already done so can still request a physical card designed by artist AlexPaulNice.
And for the 2024 card we will be running a small creative competition at the start of the year to give artists (or anyone else who wants to take part and feels like an artist) a chance to express themselves. The winner who will be elected by the members will see his or her work take its place on the 2024 card which will be sent out to all our members.
We will be back at the beginning of the year to tell you more and answer any questions you may have!
Donations to associations
The goal set for this new year is to make 4 donations (one per quarter).
They will be linked mainly to the sale of dedicated Honu collections like in 2023 but also to other little things that will be put in place throughout the year.
The first being a percentage of the profits from the book sales “Un conte Honua Honu – Lilou“.
Many ideas and proposals were put forward during the general meeting all of which will be studied carefully and reported on next year if we manage to implement them.
It was also decided that each donation will be of a minimum of €300 and of a maximum of €500. Total donations for 2024 will therefore be between €1,200 and €2,000. The aim is to smooth out the donations so that each association can receive an equal share and if the budget explodes during the year (we are counting on you!) other donations will be made in addition to the 4 planned.
Of course if someone makes a donation to a particular association it will be paid directly (in addition to the 300 to 500 € initially planned).
Tortupôle visit
As Le Tortupôle has touched the hearts of many of you (and us) we have decided to organize a little “IRL” (In Real Life) get-together so that we can all meet for a drink and visit the center together. The planned date would certainly be sometime in June 2024.

The year 2024 will undoubtedly be a great year for the association and we hope for each and every one of you.

Because let us not forget. We do not save the world by saving an animal but for that animal the world has changed!
